How to connect D-Link Routers to the Internet through BigPond cable

We are using the internet since 90s. Though, internet was there before also but we really cannot call that the real inter-net. The speed was very slow at that time and the connection also. Not everyone used to have the internet at that time. All this transformations have been made possible only by using some sort of devices that enhances the speed of the connection. Yes, here we are talking about the router that connects your computer to the net through a modem.

One big company which has been the pillar of the router’s industry is D-Link. It has been there since 1986. You can use its devices with any sort of connecting cable. In this blog, D-Link support is talking about connecting its routers through the Big Pond cables. In order to get this done, you need to switch your router’s WAN port to the Big Pond cable option and then you have to enter your username and password.

Make sure to disable all the Big Pond software from your computer beforehand to avoid any misconnection. The router should login instead of your computer. Now, follow the below mentioned steps in order to see your results:

  1. Go to the cable login on your computer which is connected to the internet modem. Look for the icon on the task bar and press it and disconnect all the connections.

  2. Now, again after pressing that icon, go to options and in there deselect the auto connect option.

  3. Now, add the modem to the router and make sure it is not connected to any other device through any USB.

  4. Switch the modem to the Ethernet.

  5. Next, enter the IP address of your router in a browser on your computer.

  6. Default username is admin and leave the password blank.

  7. Finally, on the setup page, select the internet connection as Big Pond. And after this, you are done.
